Terms of Service

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 12, 2026 · CHEFRYS.COM

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a contract between you and Chefrys ("Chefrys", "we", "us"), the operator of the Chefrys One kitchen operations service at chefrys.com (the "Service"). By creating an account, starting a trial, or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a restaurant, catering company or other business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business, and "you" means that business.

1. What the Service is

Chefrys One reads the documents you send it — supplier invoices and price lists, recipes, inventory count sheets, point-of-sale exports, event sheets, recipe links from social media and the web, and email forwarded to your private Chefrys One address — and turns them into a connected record of your kitchen: ingredients, recipes, prices, plate costs, stock, orders, prep lists, allergen information, sales and variance reports. It also answers questions about that record. The Service is a tool for professional kitchens and is intended for business use by people aged 18 or over.

2. Your account

3. AI reading, costing and reports — what you must check

Chefrys One uses artificial-intelligence models to read your documents and answer questions. Reading is presented to you as a review card before anything is saved; you are responsible for checking quantities, units, prices and other figures on that card and correcting them. Costs, food-cost percentages, stock values, variance, menu-engineering and every other report are computed from the data in your account and are only as accurate as that data.

Allergens. Allergen information in Chefrys One is derived from the ingredients recorded in your recipes at the time it is displayed or printed. It does not know about cross-contact, substitutions your staff make, or ingredients that were not recorded. It is decision support for trained kitchen staff, not a guarantee, and it does not replace your own allergen controls, supplier specifications or legal obligations to guests. Reprint allergen matrices after any recipe change.

Answers and images. Answers from the assistant and generated images (for example buffet station maps) can contain mistakes. Check them before you act on them, and check every label before you print a map for service.

4. Plans, tokens and fair use

5. Free trial

Kitchens that start on the Catering Kitchen or Chef’s Kitchen plan receive a 14-day trial of the Service with a starting balance of tokens (50 on Catering Kitchen, 100 on Chef’s Kitchen) and no card required; the Multi-Kitchen plan has no trial, and a plan bought on the website starts at once. Features that act outside Chefrys One on your behalf (automated supplier calls, order emails, text messages, automatic ordering) and generated images (dish photos, buffet maps) are available on a paid plan. One trial per kitchen and per person, email address (in any spelling or alias) or mobile number. When the trial ends without a plan, AI work stops; your data stays and counting, lists and reports keep working while you decide. Choosing a plan continues the same kitchen — nothing is moved or re-uploaded. We may change or withdraw the trial offer for new sign-ups at any time.

6. Billing, renewal and cancellation

7. Your data and our software

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available and improve it continuously, and we may add, change or remove features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Third-party services we depend on (hosting, AI models, payments, email delivery, social platforms) can fail or change outside our control.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us; we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or where required by law, with notice where reasonably possible. Sections 3, 7, 10 and 11 survive termination.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, food, stock or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service — including decisions you make based on costs, reports, answers, images or allergen information it shows. Our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your use of the Service in violation of law or third-party rights.

Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 4, 2026 · CHEFRYS.COM

This policy explains what Chefrys ("we", "us") collects when you visit chefrys.com or use the Chefrys One service, what we do with it, who else sees it, and the choices you have. We are located in Ontario, Canada, and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Most of the data in Chefrys One is business data about your kitchen; where it includes personal information (for example your name and email, or a supplier representative's name on an invoice) this policy applies to it.

We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on chefrys.com or in the Service.

2. How we use it

3. AI processing

Chefrys One sends the content you ask it to read or answer to AI providers over encrypted connections: Anthropic (document reading, questions, substitutions, layout reading), Google (watching the recipe videos you share, to read the amounts and steps they show and say) and OpenAI (transcribing the audio of a recipe video that can't be watched, and generating buffet-map images). They process that content to return a result to us and, under the API terms we use them on, do not use it to train their models. We send only what the action needs — the document, the relevant records from your kitchen, your question.

4. Who else sees your data

Your data is stored and processed in the United States, outside Canada and outside Quebec. Before entrusting it to a provider there we weigh the sensitivity of the information, the purpose, the safeguards in place and the legal regime it will sit under, as Quebec's Law 25 requires. Our own staff access your kitchen's data only to provide support you have asked for, to investigate abuse or security problems, or where the law requires it. We disclose data to authorities only where legally compelled, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.

5. Cookies and on-device storage

6. Security

Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2 hashes. Each kitchen's data lives in its own isolated workspace; sign-in attempts and AI actions are rate-limited; phone sign-in links expire after ten minutes and work once. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect a problem.

7. Retention and deletion

8. Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent (which may mean we can no longer provide the Service), or complain about how we handle it. Contact us at the details above; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in another jurisdiction whose law gives you additional rights, we will honour them.

Quebec. Our person in charge of the protection of personal information (privacy officer) is Terry Wilson-Lall, Co-founder. Write to support@chefrys.com with "Privacy officer" in the subject line, or to the postal address above. Quebec residents may also complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. We will notify you and the Commission of any confidentiality incident involving your personal information that presents a risk of serious injury.

9. Children

The Service is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes

We will post updates to this policy here with a new effective date and, for material changes, tell you inside the Service or by email.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Plain rules for the money side of Chefrys One. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD), charged by our payment processor Stripe. These rules form part of our Terms of Service.

1. The free trial costs nothing

A kitchen that starts on a Catering Kitchen or Chef’s Kitchen trial gets 14 days of the full product and a starting balance of tokens with no card on file; nothing is charged unless you choose a plan, and choosing one keeps the same kitchen and everything in it. A kitchen bought on the website starts on its plan at once, with no trial.

2. Cancel any time

3. Monthly plans

Monthly fees are not refunded for partial months. If you cancel on day 10 of a month, you keep access to the end of that month and are not charged again.

4. Annual plans

5. Token packs

A token pack is refundable within 14 days of purchase as long as none of its tokens have been used. Once any of a pack's tokens have been spent, the pack is not refundable. Plan tokens and purchased packs have no cash value and are not paid out.

6. Mistaken or duplicate charges

If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged an amount that does not match your plan, tell us and we will refund the difference in full.

7. Changing plans

Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated by Stripe for the rest of the current period. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal. Switching between monthly and annual billing happens at the next renewal.

8. How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe and usually appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. We do not refund to a different card or in cash.

9. How to ask

Use the form at chefrys.com/talk with your kitchen name and the date of the charge. We reply within two business days.

Referral Program Terms

Last updated: September 30, 2026

1. The program

Chefrys (“we”) pays a cash reward to a person (“the referrer”) whose referral link brings a new kitchen to Chefrys One that becomes a paying customer. A referrer is a person to whom we have issued a referral code. By sharing a referral link you accept these terms.

2. What the referred kitchen gets

A kitchen that signs up through a referral link gets its first paid month free on any plan when it chooses a plan by card. The free month does not combine with founding-kitchen pricing; where both apply, the founding rate is used.

3. What the referrer earns

The reward is 1.5 times the monthly rate of the plan the referred kitchen pays for, in Canadian dollars, at the rate in effect when the reward vests. For a kitchen on the founding rate the reward is based on that rate. The reward for a kitchen paying annually is the same as for the monthly plan.

4. When a reward vests

A reward vests once the referred kitchen has paid three invoices (the free month does not count). A kitchen that pays a year upfront vests 45 days after that payment. A reward does not vest, and is void, if before that point the kitchen is refunded, cancels, is closed for a breach of our terms, or the referral is found to be ineligible under section 6. Once a reward has vested it is final.

5. Payment

Vested rewards are paid weekly by Interac e-Transfer, PayPal or direct deposit, to the payout method the referrer has saved on their referrals page. We may hold payment until the referrer has given us the information a payment or a tax slip requires. Rewards are paid as money, not as service credit, and are not transferable.

6. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to receive payments in your own name. A referral is not eligible if the referred kitchen is yours, belongs to your organization, or was already a Chefrys One customer or trial; if it was obtained through paid advertising on our name, coupon or deal sites, spam, or a misleading description of the product; or if any information given to us is false. We may review a referral before paying it and decline one that shows these signs.

7. Taxes

Rewards are income to the referrer, who is responsible for any tax on them. Where the law requires, we issue a tax slip (in Canada a T4A once rewards in a calendar year reach $500) and will ask for the identifying information it needs before paying further rewards.

8. Sharing your link

Share your link yourself, from your own accounts. Do not send bulk or unsolicited messages. Say plainly that you are referring a product you use and that you are paid when the kitchen becomes a customer.

9. Changes and ending the program

We may change the reward amounts or these terms, or end the program, with notice on this page. Changes do not reduce a reward that has already vested. We may remove a referrer from the program for a breach of these terms.
